We Are Pentecostal . . .

1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Acts 2:1-4 (KJV)

Can you see in the above scripture that the day of Pentecost was "fully come?" The Greek word for "fully come" (sumplhrow sumpleroo) simply means: be fully come, to fill completely, to complete entirely and to be fulfilled. It paints a picture of the hold of a ship being filled completely to its capacity at the appropriate time to carry it’s cargo to its predetermined destination..

The Church was being born, its "cargo hold" being filled with the precious cargo of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit of God to be taken to its predetermined destination, which is every person on planet earth. God said:

18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy: Acts 2:18 (KJV)

The supernatural impartation of miracles, signs and wonders was being loaded into the very belly of the Church. This was Pentecost and became the inheritance of every Pentecostal that was in the Upper Room and every Pentecostal since.

This was the promise of the Father, the power of God being delivered to all who would receive the precious cargo bought and paid for, and now being distributed, by our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Anointed One of God (Luk. 24:49; Act 1:4, 8).

We, beloved, have received this "cargo" and now can expect every manifestation of its intended use. Believe me, it is not just about speaking in tongues. We are now able to demonstrate the power of resurrection in every area of life.

We Are Spirit Baptized . . .

Not only does the Holy Spirit make His abode (His home) in us, which happens to all who are born-again, but we have the privilege of releasing the attributes of His Person to meet every need with which we may be confronted. Pentecostals are those who have simply taken one more step after salvation and have asked the Lord to immerse them in His Spirit and have yielded to His wondrous work within and through them. We are this kind of Christian.

Yes, we prophesy. Yes, we speak with other tongues, Yes, we receive a word of knowledge or a word of wisdom. Yes, yes, yes! Hallelujah! We have been given a Divine blessing so that we can be blessed to be a blessing.

We are those spoken of in the book of Mark:

17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. 19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. 20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen. Mark 16:17-20 (KJV)

We are not "sign" followers. Signs follow us as we work the works of God. Each Pentecostal should "cast out devils" and "speak with new tongues." Each has complete authority over "that old serpent" the devil himself as well as supernatural protection from what is ingested. Each one of us should be eager to lay hands on those who are sick because we are promised by God that "they shall recover."

Being Baptized in the Holy Ghost (Spirit) and walking in the power of God is what it means to be a Pentecostal. Every Christian has the right to receive "the promise of the Father."

Expect the miraculous and enjoy being a blessing by moving in the supernatural gifts of God!

The Thief Comes . . .

"The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. . ." John 10:10a (AMP)

What, exactly, does the thief (Satan and his forces) come to steal, kill and destroy?

The Devil and his minions are working to steal your faith, kill your faith, and destroy your faith.

If he can steal, kill and destroy your faith he can steal your health, wealth and joy; he can kill your zeal for life, your every dream, and everything that pertains to life; he can destroy your God given destiny and even your salvation, if you let him.

"If you let him."

Be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring [in fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour.

1 Peter 5:8 (AMP)

How can the Devil, of all beings, steal anything from you if you are God’s child?

He sends thoughts into your mind (fiery darts) or sends you someone who will speak his lies. Oh they may be well meaning, but they are not walking in, or talking, the Word of Faith.

Lift up over all the [covering] shield of saving faith, upon which you can quench all the flaming missiles of the wicked [one]. Ephesians 6:16 (AMP)

Don’t buy the lie! No matter where it comes from. Don’t make what you hear in your thoughts or what you hear from well meaning friends (we hope they are) your thoughts.

If you will refuse to speak the words of doubt and fear, the thoughts will not bring forth, they will be aborted before they can bring the curse into your life.

Do not listen to, nor repeat, any negative report. God is Good and His Word is true. Everything else is deceptive and destructive.

But, I Have Come . . .

"I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows)." John 10:10b (AMP)

Here is the unalterable promise of Jesus to those who have made Him Lord of their life: "I have come!" Keep this great truth in the forefront of your thinking and speaking.

He said that He has come (In your now!) to bring you life and life more abundantly! He, by the Holy Ghost through Paul, has said that you can do whatever you set your mind to do:

I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency]. Philippians 4:13 (AMP)

Supernatural strength, ability, aptitude and efficiency is given to you in Christ, the Anointed One and His anointing.

Don’t ever allow thoughts of defeat or fear to become words in your mouth. Cast them down, through the power of the name of Jesus, before they can torment you or cause you the least bit of anxiety.

[Inasmuch as we] refute arguments and theories and reasonings and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God; and we lead every thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One), 2 Corinthians 10:5 (AMP)

Your Lord and Savior, Jesus, is come and now dwells within you by the Holy Spirit. You are one with Christ and resurrection life is within you.

". . . For we are the temple of the living God; even as God said, I will dwell in and with and among them and will walk in and with and among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be My people." 2 Cor. 6:16 (AMP)

Walking In The Anointing . . .

To walk in the anointing means to walk in a way that is compatible with the character and nature of the Holy Spirit.
The Word of God reveals that we are able to do “all things through,” and in, “Christ” (the anointing of The Anointed One) which, not Who, by the way, continually strengthens us:

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Philippians 4:13 (KJV)
It is “Christ” (the anointing of the Anointed One) in us, the hope of present glory, that reveals the riches of the glory of God’s mystery among us.
To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: Colossians 1:27 (KJV)
We walk with a holy confidence that allows us to exhibit the Divine Presence within, and upon, our lives during our time on earth. Our character and nature takes on the attributes of the Christ, Jesus, the Logos of God, and so God is seen in demonstration in the world. His great power, resurrection power, can be released through us and we can accomplish things we could never do alone.
But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. Romans 8:11 (KJV)
Resurrection power is within each believer. Now, nothing is impossible to, and for, those in faith.
What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. Mark 11:23-24 (KJV)
Will we dare believe the unalterable, unstoppable Word of the Living God? Will we set ourselves to see His Word performed with the same focused commitment that He, Himself has?
Then said the Lord to me, You have seen well, for I am alert and active, watching over My word to perform it. Jeremiah 1:12 (Amp)
Standing On The Promises . . .

To stand on the promises of God’s Word is to walk in a way that is compatible with the character and nature of the Holy Spirit. There is never a time when it can be said that the Holy Spirit or Christ Jesus did not validate what God had said. We can see that Jesus was so settled in His relationship with the Father that He would speak or act upon the Word of God without hesitation. In fact, He would not even venture to speak nor act on His own.

Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things. John 8:28 (KJV) (also Joh. 5:19; 8:38)
This shows absolute trust in the promises and directives of God the Father. The record of the Holy Spirit is the same:
Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. John 16:13 (KJV)
What every one of us who are born-again believers needs to consider is that, if we would place the same trust in the Word of God that the Godhead (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) does, we could do what Jesus did. Isn’t this what Jesus told those who followed Him?
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. John 14:12 (KJV)
Let’s take a walk in the anointing and stand on the promises found in God’s Word to us. It just could be that as we do, revival will come and sweep our land. God, who cannot lie, said in 2 Cor. 6:16 “I will dwell in [you]” and “I will walk in [you].” With a promise like that what is impossible now?   - Selah

Are You Reading?

Christians have the privilege and the responsibility to read the Bible, the Word of God. “Why should I read it?,” You may ask. Because it is alive and full of power to change your life eternally.

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrews 4:12 (KJV)
God spoke to men who recorded His words which are alive and powerful so that you could hear what He has to say about the issues of life. The Word of God carries the power to give Divine knowledge that change your life (2 Peter 1:21).
According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: 2 Peter 1:3 (KJV)
God spoke to Noah (Gen. 8:15) and his sons (Gen. 9:8). God spoke to Jacob (Gen. 31:11; 35:15; 46:2) and Moses (Exo. 6:2). He spoke volumes of words (Exo. 20:1) in Horeb (Deut. 1:6) and at other times to guide His people.
Not one thing that God spoke has failed to come to pass (Josh. 23:14). Our God is a living God and a God of the living (Mk. 12:26).
The Son of God, Jesus, is raised from the dead, eternally alive and praying for you and me.
But God raised him from the dead: Acts 13:30 (KJV)
. . . It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. Romans 8:34 (KJV)
He, Christ Jesus, the Anointed One of God, is the Head and Builder of the Church.
And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; Ephes. 2:20 (KJV)
. . . upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Matthew 16:18 (KJV)

What Are You Reading?

It is a good thing if you are reading this article but this article only holds a glimpse of the Word of Life. It contains portions of the Word of Life but it is not the Word of Life, the Word of God, the Bible.
This article is only written to stimulate your interest in the things of God and the Word of God, without which, you will never develop into a strong victorious Christian.
Without you reading the Word of God for yourself, in addition to hearing the preaching of the Word, by which faith comes, you will not have the ingrafted word that will save your soul.

. . . faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17 (KJV)
. . . receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. James 1:21 (KJV)
You will never have victory over the sin that so easily clings to you without being a student of the word that has learned to handle it properly.
. . . let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Hebrews 12:1 (KJV)
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Tim. 2:15 (KJV)
Beloved, the difference between someone who lives a victorious, blessed by God, life and someone who is continually falling in defeat and depression is that of reading the Bible. The Christian that can say,
“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee” (Psa. 119:11 KJV), is the Christian that is walking in the Kingdom blessing of the prosperity and health of God (3 Joh. 1:2):
For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. Romans 14:17 (KJV)
